THE PROJECT
Spain was lacking a good site on the web to help runners find races and related information. There are multiple sites on the web with too much advertisement far from the users desired experience.
Our goal was to develop a site that could aggregate race information with user generated content: pictures, comments, videos, before and after the events.
We built:
- Conceptualization
- Information architecture
- Visual design
- Front-end development
- Back-end development
- GIS development

THE CHALLENGE
We were looking for a project where we could research and improve our skills on social websites around a specific topic. With an agile development process we managed to have our first version deployed in less than a month, and iterate from there.
-
THE SOLUTION
Almost all APIs you can think of were mashed up!
The first prototype was ready after 20 days. -
THE RESULTS
The response from users was great, so we developed further into the current Beta.
Runnity is the classical research project that we like to do to test some of our ideas on the web, visualization, content, users and so on. Go and run!
HIGHLIGHTS
-
Geographical search
All Runnity’s races are geolocalized, so users can search the ones that are located near their home.
-
Community tools
Runnity focus on the social side of races and runners: user profiles, conversations, photos, personal records, planning races...
-
Integrated run track and altimetry
Using APIs we calculate the altimetry along the track and visualize it for runners to better understand the race.
