Edward is a Scientist whose research helps us extract information and gain deeper insight from remote sensing data, particularly on topics such as climate change, marine and coastal environments, and inland waters. His work draws on his experience of developing services for Copernicus – The European Earth Observation Programme to support nature-based shoreline protection, and the development of remote sensing machine learning techniques for monitoring coal-fired power stations globally.
Raised by the sea in beautiful Devon, Edward left the UK to pursue his PhD and postdoc studies in the Netherlands and Spain. He’s fluent in statistics, R and the language of Google Earth Engine. When he’s not working, Edward likes to spend time with his son and hit the waves with his bodyboard before whipping up an Asian feast for dinner.
